After our Lego play we started to think about how things are built. We wondered how people are able to get buildings to stay up. Some of us had trouble getting our Lego towers to stand!
Lucky for us Clearview is getting some new Homebases built. We went and checked it out!
What did you see?
Benny - There was a pointy roof. The office didn’t have a pointy roof.
Angus - There were heaps of frames to hold up the building so it doesn’t fall down on the builders like my dad.
Lachie - I saw the toilet. It had a flat roof.
Sophie - There were poles to hold the wall up. They will take them down when they are ready.
Marshall - They have a lunch part that is their staff room.
Riley M - There was a building, a little building, for the builders to have their lunch and tea.
Benny - Angus’s Dad made a door too big so it won’t fit in the building.
Angus - Yeah, it wouldn’t fit in the classroom door so they are going to make it smaller.
Letia - There was fence so people can’t get in. Something might fall on them if they do.
Luke - I saw wood sticking down and up. It was inside the building. It is holding the walls up and they will take them down. They just need to see if they will work.
Kieran - I saw lots lots of little wood bits sticking out the bottom. It was holding everything up. They were going into the grass.
Riley K - I saw some blue blocks down the side for holding up the gates.
Benny - There were stairs in the building. There was a ladder and it went higher than the stairs and up to the stairs. The stairs went around the whole building.
Angus - That’s so the builders can build the roof.
